STIVENSON MAGLOIRE
Saint Soleil Painters

Born in 1962 in Port au Prince to Haitian painter Louisianne Saint Fleurant, Stivenson seemed to have a tough act to follow. However, he busted on the art scene early, developing his own style, which some collectors called "violent". Like the Saint Soleil painters, his work was beyond doubt influenced by the ideas and symbolism of voodoo. Stivenson worked with Tiga among other great painters. His work has been exhibited in Japan, Canada, the US, France at The Grand Palais in Paris in 1989.He was featured in the French magazine "Elle"(story and paintings).Stivenson's paintings are on permanent exhibit at several galleries and museums worldwide including Selden Rodman's in New Jersey, USA. Stivenson Magloire died on October 9,1994.He was stoned to death by some enemies.
