JEAN LOUIS SENATUS, one of the principal painters of the "School of art" was born in Leogane on August 16,1949. The masters; Rene Exume and Gerard Jolicoeur gave him his artistic education at the "Foyer des arts Plastiques" In 1973 a great artist named Scordilis, in Haiti on leave from his job as art professor in New York City, helped him refine his style. He lives with his family in Port-Au-Prince. He has exhibited in Europe, Haiti and the USA. His paintings are valuable collector's pieces.
